Popis - OBSCURE MASTER PLAN:
When it comes to power metal, it?s not easy to come up with an original formula that would conjoin pure heaviness, catchy melodies and top-notch musical skills. Fortunately, New Eden is one of these bands that manage to get the job done and deliver a prime selection of tasty riffs and memorable vocals. This re-release of the group?s second LP, ?Obscure Master Plan?, shows exactly how a modern power album should sound! ?Obscure Master Plan? landed in stores in 1999, bringing a much more diverse content than on the debut release. The line-up went through some serious changes, as the band welcomed three new members: guitarist Oscar Gomez, drummer Michael O. Echeveria and singer Tony Devita. Together they recorded a power metal masterpiece, capturing the sheer essence of the genre and improving it with the addition of speed and progressive metal elements. The ten tracks included on ?Obscure Master Plan? range from heavy metal anthems to thrashing monstrosities and progressive elegies. Colmenares and his group managed to capture the retro sound of 80?s heavy metal and confront it with a truly modern approach, backed with some amazing guitar riffs and impressive vocal lines. Easily comparable to classic releases by Iced Earth, Symphony X or Sanctuary, ?Obscure Master Plan? is definitely one of the best US power metal albums of the 90s. After releasing their second LP, New Eden? line-up went through a complete makeover, leaving only Colmenares as the original members. The new musicians were Tim Thomas on guitars, Mike Duran on bass, Jimmy Schultz on drums and ex-Steel Prophet vocalist Rick Mythiasin, replaceing Devita. The group returned in 2003, releasing their third full-length album ?Stagnant Progression? and again proving that their power metal formula works like a charm. The European version of ?Stagnant Progression? featured three exclusive bonus tracks from 1999, still with Devita on vocals. Currently New Eden is working on their fourth LP, which is to be entitled ?Solving for X? and as the band claims, it will ?push the boundaries of traditional power metal?. In the meantime, feel free to experience one of the group?s finest releases ? if you?re a true power metal fan, you can?t go wrong with ?Obscure Master Plan?!!
