Outkast is synonymous with hip hop experimentation and being forefathers of Atlanta hip hop music. Before there was TI, Ludacris, Young Jeezy or Gucci Mane, there was Outkast...Andre 3000 and Big Boi. They jumped on the scene in 1993 with the release of their first single, "Player's Ball". Their laid back vocals over funky beats (supplied by Organized Noize) captivated hip hop listeners who, at the time, didn't know anything other than the East Coast sound and the West Coast sound. Their debut album, "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik", became wildly popular. Their second album, "ATLiens", and third album, "Aquemini", further solidified their place as the ambassadors of down south hip hop. "Aquemini" received "5 Mics" from The Source Magazine and was labeled an instant classic. After releasing a few more albums, Dre and Big Boi decided to part ways and explore solo careers. They both achieved commercial success individually but they will always be thought of by their true fans as the group...Outkast!
