Edition on CD. Muyei Power or Orchestre Muyei (Muyei means Our Land) was one of the top dance bands in Sierre Leone during the 1970s. Elements of electric Congolese and Nigerian music (the style with fast, syncopated upbeat arrangements of traditional music) form the foundation on which Muyei Power's style is based. This compilation contains the band's series of unique singles that were not available for 35 years. These recordings are rare glimpses of a truly dynamic and powerful band at the height of their fame.
