Friends since elementary school, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel of Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, New York formed the duo Tom & Jerry during their junior year of high school. They first recorded in the late '50s, some eight years before hitting it big as Simon & Garfunkel. The track 'Hey Schoolgirl' was a minor hit, selling 100.000 copies and reaching #49 on the Billboard charts. In its early days the duo was heavily influenced by the Everly Brothers as can be heard on these 20 tracks, recorded between 1958 and 1962.
