The first 7-inch release from No Wahala Sounds, a label that aims to specialise in releasing lost African "classics" from the 1960s to the 1980s. Kakai Kilonzo (1954-1987) was one of the leading exponents of benga, Kenya's guitar-driven uptempo party music. 'Mama Sofi' is one of his most melodic and danceble tunes. The song has a length of c.a. 9 minutes and is structured in two parts for the two sides, as was typical for African 7-inch releases in those days. This edition is limited to 300 copies with coloured labels, presented in a plain black disco bag.
