Los Mirlos was one of Peru's most celebrated Cumbia bands. Featuring the incredible electric guitar of Gilberto Reátegui, the group released a total of seven LP's for the Infopesa label. Cantaining recordings from the years 1972-1980, 'Cumbia Amazónica' features all of the band's classics, including 'El Sonido De Los Mirlos', 'Sonido Amazónico' and 'Poder Verde'. These are genuine Amazonian cumbia/chicha sounds straight from the jungle, full of surf, echo and reverb drenched electric guitars, cheap keyboards, exotic percussion and effects. This LP comes with sound from the original master tapes. An insert with liner notes and photos is included.
