Compared with its first album, No God Slave is a huge jump forward for Embryo. The lineup changes have increased the potentials of the band and have pushed it to a new songwriting level, more focused on what are their real possibilities and closer to what is the final sound they wanted to reach. The Swedish melodic death metal influenced riffing has been replaced by a more aggressive style. Meshuggah and Fear Factory are the main rhythmic references; this new “attitude” has been fused with the usual “no compromise” vocal approach and with symphonic keyboards arrangements that gave them a wider emotional spectrum. Lyrics are a scream of anger and hate against a weak, poor and useless 'humanity', stuck in his fears and trapped by the laws of their gods that other men claim to spread around. The sound is great and powerful thanks to the wise hands of producer Simone Mularoni, who helped the band during recording and mixing sessions, and Gabriele Ravaglia who followed the mastering phase in his Fear Studio.
