Popis - VOYAGER:
Who are the Praise Pardners? The Praise Pardners provides music and song for the worship time at the “Worship Up, saddle up” cowboy ministry of Troy (MO) First Baptist Church. Their style/sound is hard to classify – it is a combination of bluegrass, country, gospel, classical, and others. It is Gospel based, simple, and pleasant – a sound you are sure to enjoy. The members on the album range from 14 to 76 years old (at start of recording). Praise Pardners Members: Dave Hallows – Vocals Mike Herndon – Vocals, Bass Guitar Tina Meyer - Vocals Randall Penberthy – Vocals, Banjo, Guitar Jonathan Romanko – Violin, Vocals Matthew Romanko – Cello, Banjo Terry Romanko – Vocals, Mandolin, Percussion While there is a certain beauty in the hues that paint the autumn landscape (see cover), there is an apprehension generated by the death/decay of the once vigorous vegetation. This same death/decay we experience due to the sin which mars an otherwise “very good” creation (Gen 1:31). The anticipation of the new life of spring often enables us to endure the hardships that come with the lifelessness of winter. In the same way, the Light of the World piercing through the gloom provides a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Pet 1:3). A place with no more tears, no mourning, crying, or pain (Rev 21:4). An inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away (1 Pet 1:3-7) truly can be yours “Over in Glory Land”. To find out more about the Praise Pardners, try a Google search for Praise Parnders to locate our web page. We'd love to hear from you, and would be glad to pray for you. Do you play over in your mind what your day has in store? Do you think about getting that first cup of coffee. Do you think “Good god, it's morning already?” Or do you say “Good morning, God”? How you start the day can make a tremendous difference in your attitude and outlook throughout the rest of the day.” Lyrics: Well, the first thing I like to do when I wake up in the morn'n, before my feet hit the ground, Is fold my hands together, look up to heaven, and praise the Lord for where I'm bound. (Chorus) Because of His grace, we can have a place over in Glory Land. Yes, He made that walk alone so we could have a home. With His own blood He washed away our sins. Yes, Jesus loves us, and He waits for us, across that crystal sea with open arms. The first thing I like to think of when I wake up in the morn'n is just how truly blessed I am. I fold my hands together, look up to heaven, and praise the Lord for where I'm bound. (Chorus) Now if you don't know Jesus but you want to sing along Reach out and let him take you by the hand. Admit you are a sinner, ask Him to forgive you, Then you can praise the Lord for where your bound. (Chorus) Yes, Jesus loves us, and He waits for us across that crystal sea with open arms. 2) Leaning on the Everlasting Arms (Words – Hoffman, 1887; Music – Showalter, 1887) Deut 33:27 Lyrics: What a fellowship, what a joy divine, Leaning on the everlasting arms; What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, Leaning on the everlasting arms. Refrain: Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms; Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms. O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, Leaning on the everlasting arms; O how bright the path grows from day to day, Leaning on the everlasting arms. (Refrain) What have I to dread, what have I to fear, Leaning on the everlasting arms; I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, Leaning on the everlasting arms. (Refrain) 3) We Need to Hear the Gospel (Words and Music by Michael K Herndon, Terry Romanko, and Jonathan Romanko, ©2013) “Too many times we take ure and interpret it to fit our way of life. Just like King Jehoiakim (Jer. 36:20-25), we often pick and choose those those that are convenient, and discard the rest. However, Jesus was straightforward when he taught the Gospel. All ure is profitable (2 Tim. 3:16), and not a matter of our own interpretation (2 Peter 1:20-21). Still, the Pharisees (Matt. 23:13-36)and the rich man (Matt. 19:16-22) were more intent upon doing things their way than fixing their hearts on the Lord. If we truly want to walk with Jesus in Glory Land we would be wise to hear the Gospel the way its meant to be.” Lyrics: Chorus: We need to hear the Gospel the way its meant to be The way that Jesus taught it, on the shores of Galilee Don't try to dress it up, don't dare change a word Cause the words that came from Jesus are the greatest ever heard! Bridge: You can try to make it fit your way of life, I'm tell'n you it'll only bring you strife Think about the rich kid who wished to follow Christ, He just couldn't give up the pleasures of this life. He just turned and slowly walked away, I often wonder where he'll be come that judgment day. (Chorus) (Bridge) Woe to you Pharisees who tithed your mint and spice, You took the Word of God and made it fit your life. Justice, mercy, and faithfulness you treated like old shoes, Just wait and see you dogs where the Good Lord tosses you. (Chorus) (Bridge) You need to love the Good Lord with all your soul and might, And don't forget your neighbor, your both precious in His sight. Then one day you will hear that final trumpet blast, And if you've followed Jesus, you will walk with Him at last. (Chorus) (Repeat the last line of Chorus) 4) Brother John (Words and Music by Randall Penberthy, ©2013) “The Lord gave us free will – love is not love without the freedom to choose to love. But, even while we were dead in sin, the Father loved us (Rom. 5:8). His will is for us to be with him in Glory Land (2 Peter 3:9). Just like the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32), God waits steadfastly for us, and rejoices when we realize His love.” “In Luke Chapter 15 starting with verse 11 Christ passes on a story about a man whose younger son demanded his inheritance early. The son proceeded to squander it in a distant country, and ended up hiring himself out to a “pagan” who relegated him to feeding detestable pigs. The ironic thing is that at this point the son wished he could eat so well. He came to his senses, and purposed in his mind to go back to his father in repentance, not expecting anything more than to ask his father to make him one of his hired men. The words of the son to the father were (Luke 15:21) “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son”. The father restored the boy and celebrated with a feast. If you have wandered from the Lord, or if you have never come to the Lord in repentance and faith, do so now, do so today. Your Father in Heaven is waiting to say (Luke 15:24) “this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.”” Lyrics: Our Family lived a simple life, down on the old homeplace Trusting in our Savior, blessed by His saving grace. At night when work was over, we'd bow our heads and pray We'd join hands round the table, thankful for the day. My brother John was twenty one when he said he'd had enough 'I'm tired of being a farmer, the work is just too tough.' He'd always had these big ideas of being out on his own, He wanted more excitement, the urge was there to roam. I saw him talkin' to Dad one day, standin' out in the yard, My Dad was tryin' to reason, I could see it hit him hard. John's mind was made, he wouldn't stay, he planned to leave that day, So he took what he had comin', then turned and walked away. The years went by, and Dad would cry, praying for his boy, I knew his heart was broken, in him there was no joy. I'd see him staring o'er the fields, his eyes filled with tears, Hoping, always hoping, faithful through the years. A stranger happened by one day, stopped in to say hello, He said he'd seen my brother, who's sins had brought him low, He told about his tattered clothes, a body racked with pain, Sleeping in a pig sty, out in the pouring rain. But then, one day, to my surprise, I heard him call my name. We both had seen him coming, while he yet was far away. Dad threw his arms around him, his lost boy had come home, There was no hesitation, forgiven, welcomed home. How much we're like the prodigal son, how oft we go astray How much we need our Savior, to guide us through the day. How very fortunate we are when we receive God's grace, How blest to be forgiven, oh, praise His Holy name. How blest to be forgiven, oh, praise His Holy name! 5) The Glory Line (Words and Music by Michael K Herndon, ©2013) “The ABCs are the basics to our language. The are also the fundamentals to your salvation: Admit you are a sinner, Believe Jesus died for you, Confess your sins. Following these ABCs will provide you with a ticket from our life as a prisoner of sin to the freedom of the Glory Land.” Lyrics: Well, I can hear that whistle blowin', the train is almost here. I get to be at that station when the Lord calls us near. I've got a ticket in my hand, stamped destination promised land. I'll get to see my Savior smile'n as I step up off that train. What a glorious day it will be to get to hear the angels sing, Hallelujah! praise the Lord! Our Savior and our King. I used to be a drifter, shackled to an endless rail. A prisoner within myself, hitch'n to nowhere. What a journey it's been for me, from where I was to where I'll get to be, Walkin' hand-in-hand with the Man from Galilee. What a glorious day it will be to get to hear the angels sing, Hallelujah! praise the Lord! Our Savior and our King. Now I know what you must be thinkin', what makes me think I can get a ride? Well, the answer is plain 'n simple, so let me tell you why. I admitted I was a sinner, I believe Jesus died for me. I confessed my sin unto the Lord and He made a brand new me. If you want a ticket in your hand, stamped destination promised land, Leave all your old baggage behind and start ride'n on the Glory Line. Leave all your old baggage behind and start ride'n on the Glory Line. 6) What a Friend We Have in Jesus (Words – Scriven, 1855; Music – Converse, 1868) “In the book of James (4:4), we see that to be a friend of the world is to be an enemy of God. Abraham, by believing God became our example, and through his faith was justified, becoming a friend of God (2:23). Once we become a friend we can lean upon Him to strengthen us through our weakness.” Lyrics: What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer! Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble everywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer. Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He'll take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there. 7) Power in the Blood (Words and Music – Lewis E Jones, 1899) (1 Peter 1:17-20, Rev 1:5, Rev 7:14) Lyrics: Would you be free from the burden of sin? There’s power in the blood, power in the blood; Would you o’er evil a victory win? There’s wonderful power in the blood. Refrain There is power, power, wonder working power In the blood of the Lamb; There is power, power, wonder working power In the precious blood of the Lamb. Would you be free from your passion and pride? There’s power in the blood, power in the blood; Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide; There’s wonderful power in the blood. (Refrain) Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow? There’s power in the blood, power in the blood; Sin stains are lost in its life giving flow. There’s wonderful power in the blood. (Refrain) Would you do service for Jesus your King? There’s power in the blood, power in the blood; Would you live daily His praises to sing? There’s wonderful power in the blood. (Refrain) 8) They Came (Words and Music by Michael K. Herndon, ©2013) “While the word “Trinity” is nowhere to be found in Scripture, the concept is clearly presented. The Father, Spirit, and the Son are seen throughout. The physician Luke spoke of all three in Acts 2:32-33 when testifying about the resurrection of Christ: 'This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father of the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.'”” Lyrics: There came a Light from Bethlehem for all the world to see; The way to Heaven through the gate, though narrow it may be. The Father, Spirit, and the Son came to earth as one; The Blessed Holy Trinity, a lamp unto our feet. The Lord is good all the time, all the time the Lord is good; Hallelujah, Immanuel; Hallelujah, Immanuel. From the House of Bread know as Bethlehem came the Bread of Life; Immanuel, King of Kings, Eternal Prince of Peace. What a path You did lead from the shores of Galilee, To the cross on Calvary where Your blood did wash us clean. The Lord is good all the time, all the time the Lord is good; Hallelujah, Immanuel; Hallelujah, Immanuel. Let us sing a new song for our Lord. Hallelujah, Immanuel; Hallelujah, Immanuel. 9) He Bore My Sin (Words and Music by Randall Penberthy, ©2013) “Don't let anyone fool you – nothing in life is free – someone, somewhere pays the cost. God's free gift to us is no different. What cost are you speaking of, you ask? The cost of our sin: God cannot allow our sin – your sin – into his presence, not even just a single, seemingly minor sin. He is holy, perfect, and just. Deep down, we all know this – our conscience tells us this. That is why we constantly try to justify our actions, to do our own good works to try to make up for them. The first half of Rom 6:23 states “For the wages of sin is death ...” You see, when man works, he receives a wage for his efforts. However, none of man's efforts can please God. Isa 64:6 teaches us that “... we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” In fact, these wages are actually a penalty – a debt, a judgment against us. However, note that there is Good News – the second half of Rom 6:23 tells us “but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Christ paid our eternal judgment of death. He bore our sin; He paid the cost. When we realize we are no longer on “death row”, we can all joyfully exclaim “My debt is paid, I've been set free. Blessed be Your Name!!!”” Lyrics: He is the name above all names, Bearing the burden of my pain, There on the cross He took the blame For all my sin He took my place upon the cross, He gave me hope when all was lost, Our God Incarnate paid the cost For all my sin. Chorus: Oh, Lord, You gave Your life for me, Blessed be Your Name, My debt is paid, I've been set free, Blessed be Your Name. He bled and died on Calvary, He shed His blood upon the tree, He said to Thomas, 'Come and see', He bore my sin (Chorus) He will forever be the same, Oh, sinner, call upon His Name, He brought salvation when He came, He bore my sin (Chorus) Blessed be Your Name. Blessed be Your Name. 10) A Beautiful Life (Words and Music – William M Golden, 1918) “As believers, when we reach the Glory Land we will be judged according to our deeds (Rev 20:11-13). While we will escape punishment (the second death) for our sin, our works will be evaluated by the Lord. While our works do not save us (Eph 2:8-9), living “A Beautiful Life” will lead to rewards in the Glory Land (1 Cor 3:10-15).” Lyrics: Each day I'll do a golden deed by helping those who are in need. My life on earth is but a span, and so I'll do the best I can. Chorus: Life's evening sun is sinking low, a few more days and I must go. To meet the deeds that I have done, where there will be no setting sun. To be a child of God each day, my life must shine along the way. I'll sing His praise while the ages roll, and strive to help some troubled soul. (Chorus) While going down life's weary road I'll try to lift some traveler's load. I'll try to turn the night to day, make flowers bloom along the way. (Chorus) The only life that will endure is one that's kind and good an pure. And so for God, I'll take my stand, each day I'll lend a helping hand. (Chorus) 11) Ain't no Grave (Words and Music by Michael K Herndon, ©2013) “The blessed hope of the believer is the resurrection of the dead. In regards to the this, John 5:28-29 teaches us that, one day, “all who are in the graves will hear his voice, and come forth”. Both in this passage and toward the beginning of Daniel chapter 12 we are told that some will rise to everlasting life and some to disgrace and everlasting contempt. The latter will probably wish they were still in the cold, cold ground.” Lyrics: Some people say they don't believe in the resurrection day. Don't be taken in by those who say such foolish things. A life giving Spirit, straight from Heaven He came. Because of Jesus, this I know: no grave's gonna keep me down. Jesus is the Son of God, one third of the trinity. His very name tells what he does: Jesus saves, yes He saves. Don't let your sins control your life, confess them here today. Or you'll wish you were still in the cold, cold ground, come the judgment day. I know that I am just the seed of the man that's yet to come. I have no doubt, I do believe Jesus died for me. You can take this old body and stick it in the cold, cold ground. Because of Jesus this I know: no grave's gonna keep me down. O death where is your victory, O death where is your sting? Jesus took away your hold up on Calvary. Well, a life giving Spirit, straight from Heaven He came. Because of Jesus, this I know: no grave's gonna keep me down. Because of Jesus, this I know: no grave's gonna keep me down. 12) Brethren, We Have Met to Worship (Holy Manna) (Words – George Atkins, 1819; Music – William Moore, 1825) Instrumental 13) Cross the River Jordan Boys (Words and Music by Randall Penberthy, ©2013) “When in Egypt in servitude to Pharaoh, the Isrealites cried out to God for deliverance. The Lord showed his power and might, and the people were allowed to go forth. But God's mighty hand and outstretched arm did not stop there. He parted the Red Sea, and led them through the wilderness, providing for their needs with miracle after miracle. When it came time to cross the Jordan into the promised land, the Israelites balked. It wasn't for another 40 years until they would get another chance. How about you today – you who are in servitude to sin? God offers deliverance to you. Will you continue on in unbelief or lack of faith, or will you “Cross the River Jordan, Boys”?” Lyrics: Chorus: Oh, cross the river Jordan, boys, cross it while you can Cross the river Jordan, boys, take the promised land, we've reached the promised land. When Moses said to Pharaoh, boys, let my people go, we said goodbye to Egypt-land, and down the road we'd go, boys, down the road we'd go. (Chorus) We thought we'd reached the bitter end, The Red Sea close at hand But God did part the water there, We crossed it on dry land, boys, we crossed it on dry land (Chorus) We made it through the wilderness, across that barren land, We made it through the wilderness, Led by God's right hand, boys, led by God's right hand. (Chorus) Oh, Caleb said to Joshua, there's giants in the land, But God has made His promises To take the promised land, boys, let's take the promised land (Chorus) (Repeat Chorus) 14) Softly and Tenderly (Words and Music – Will L Thompson, 1880) Lyrics: Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me; See, on the portals He's waiting and watching, watching for you and for me. Refrain: Come home, come home, you who are weary come home; Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling O sinner, come home! Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading, pleading for you and for me? Why should we linger and heed not his mercies, mercies for you and for me? (Refrain) O for the wonderful love He has promised, promised for you and for me! Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon, pardon for you and for me. (Refrain) 15) Behold the Lamb (Words and Music by Randall Penberthy, ©2013) “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29b)” Lyrics: Chorus: Behold the Lamb of God, behold His righteousness. The Everlasting Father, the Lord, the King of Kings – He is the Way, the Truth, the Life, He is the Great I AM. For unto us a Savior came, Behold! Behold the Lamb! Salvation, full and free, for all eternity, Oh, call upon the Savior, who died upon the tree, Crucified, He gave His life, He paid the price for sin, On the cross, my Lord was slain. Behold, He rose again! Down on bended knee, oh hear His urgent plea. By grace through faith receive Him, call on Him while you may. Look to Him who knew no sin, the Father's only Son. Trust in Him, be born again, and praise His Holy Name. (Chorus) 16) This Little Light of Mine (Words and Music – Harry Dixon Loes, ~1920) “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matt 5:16). No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. (Luke 11:33). One day, the Lord will return, and “round up” all believers to the Glory Land. In the meanwhile, let's not leave the Lord behind at church – let's take him with us wherever we go, and let it shine!” Lyrics: This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine! This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine! This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine! Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine! Hide it under a bushel? (No!) I'm gonna let it shine! Hide it under a bushel? (No!) I'm gonna let it shine! Hide it under a bushel? (No!) I'm gonna let it shine! Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine! We've got the light of love, let's all let it shine! We've got the light of love, let's all let it shine! We've got the light of love, let's all let it shine! Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine! When it's roundup time, let's all let it shine! When it's roundup time, let's all let it shine! When it's roundup time, let's all let it shine! Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine! Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!
