About Vertical Alignment: Vertical Alignment began at the turn of the 21st century as Pete & Terri Jorgensen and Monty Pierce began collaborating on increasingly long and complex progressive rock tunes. It was shortly thereafter that Pete discovered Bill Hammell's Internet C-Prog mailing list. A whole new world opened up to us as we discovered progressive rock friends from around the globe. A little more than a year later this all went to a whole new level when Mike Tennenbaum of the band Akacia sent us and about twenty other musicians an invitation to join a new Internet mailing list to promote our genre. This new beginning has turned into CPR and has since spawned two compilation CD's with a collection of the finest Christian progressive musicians on the planet. Vertical Alignment had the singular honor of being included on the first two disc compilation, CPR Volume One. We had the privilege of being on the same discs with such greats as Rick Wakeman, Kerry Livgren, and Neal Morse. About 'Signposts': The progressive rock band and recording project Vertical Alignment has joined together with progressive rock musicians from across America to create their debut recording entitled “Signposts.” This epic release has joined a few Charleston, SC area musicians together with musical artists from as far away as Seattle. “Signposts” is now available on CD here at CD Baby. The CD and downloads are also available at various other outlets. Beyond the music and message of “Signposts,” the release has served as a way to bring musicians together in a fashion that could not have happened previously. “We have been privileged to work with some of the finest talent in America today,” says Pete Jorgensen, Vertical Alignment founder and producer of “Signposts.” “All of those involved in this release are part of CPR, a group of musicians banded together to help promote one another. ‘Signposts’ is an expression of our unity of purpose.” The musical project is also very much a family affair. “My wife Terri plays bass on part of the album and my 5 year old daughter Melody does guest voice on one song,” says Jorgensen. Members of several well known and successful progressive bands are featured on the album. Fred Schendel from Glass Hammer plays keyboards and sings background vocals on a couple of songs. Eric Parker and David Wallimann of Glass Hammer also guest star on another song. The tune “Rented Houses” features Steve Babb (also of Glass Hammer) on bass and Carl Groves of Salem Hill on lead vocals.
