Popis - WILDLIFE RESEARCHER:
Lake Of Bass is Tim Macnamara and Diego Bosco. How it happened: Tim asked Diego to provide backing music to his 1999 Artrage commissioned show 'Maslow's Pyramid of Greed'. Loving the result, they have gone on to create the name 'Lake of Bass' to critical and commercial acclaim. Their music encompasses all genres, moods, and styles and has been heralded breathtaking and groundbreaking. With references to Massive Attack, Air, Faithless and many others their appeal is universal. With three releases out; 'Deep Dark Jazz' -1999, 'Wildlife Researcher' - 2003, and 'Coincidence Control' - 2005, they look set to increase their popularity and unique style beyond Australia to the world. Lake Of Bass have played live at the Big Day Out, Breakfest to 3000 people, won best band at the Perth International Fringe Festival, played on Triple J's 'Live On the Porch' show to estimated 300,000 people and look set to take their much touted live show on the road soon. Lake Of Bass have had feature albums from; RTR FM (twice), Nova (twice), Triple J (Groove Train), FBI Sydney, and have had major playlistings from 4ZZZ (top 5 played albums), BONDI FM (playlistings of half the 'Coincidence Control' album) 3PBS, RRR, 2SER, Radio National, and countless other stations. Lake Of Bass have also licensed tracks to Triple J and Petrol Records, plus appeared in Mel Bampton's (Triple J's 'Mel in The Morning') top 3 Australian albums of 2003 with 'Wildlife Researcher'. With exciting remixes and live shows on the way, the Lake Of Bass juggernaut continues on its merry way.... About Tim & Diego Tim is a poet, songwriter, musician, DJ, and producer. He has worked with Diego for a few years and is always trying new forms of artistic and musical expression. Tim has played in countless incarnations; solo acoustic and vocals, self-made theatre, acting, filmmaking - including both Lake Of Bass film clips (both being nominated for W.A. screen awards), Dj-ing at shows supporting some of the worlds biggest DJ's, Working with other bands - writing and performing in electro, folk, rock and funk styled original acts, and developing the Nefarious label for others to join in the fun, or should we say the chaos! Diego has toured the world with his international styles. His unique ability in all things guitar plus an amazing insight into production and an open mind to music has had him develop a catalogue of great material. He has developed an original musical language that makes him one of the most innovative voices in Australian and Italian popular music. He has dedicated almost twenty years to producing music and poetry together, in a fusion that is as ancestral as the rhyme and as contemporary as the all encompassing beat. His greatest love is Bach's music for the way melody and harmonies chase themselves in celestial, mathematical, purity. Diego is currently making more great music and also working on new Lake Of Bass material. The New Album - 'Coincidence Control' The new Lake Of Bass album 'Coincidence Control was recorded in Nov 2004-April 2005. Diego an I set up studio in my house and put together a collection of songs that would cross boundaries and blur the lines between art and music. We threw everything at it. With 15 special guests including ARIA award winner Kavisha Mazzella, Annie Neil (who has sung with Charles Aznavour, Roger Dalry, and Lou Rawls), and a host of musicians to give us a blend of folk, pop, electro, Latin, hip-hop, soul, jazz and classical that would redefine styles and hopefully make a totally original and groundbreaking sound that would grow with every listen. The album was built on beds of music with concise and meaningful lyrics and as many bass sounds as we could muster - we are called Lake of Bass for a reason we hope. Double bass is probably Diego and my fav instrument. We underpinned it with piano accordions, acoustic, electric and classical guitar, had Jess and Melanie (from W.A. symphony orchestra) play cello and violin. Sam doing Opera, DJ Lachsteady with beats and scratches, saxophone, piano, Bob Patient on bluesy keys plus a heap of other weird and wonderful things going on. The album ended up pretty well rounded we think, funky, jazzy, some soul, some grooves, some beats for ya feets, and some really choice chill bits.
