Popis - SPHEREWARE:
The German Electronics artist Robert Schroeder (discovered 1978 by EM pioneer Klaus Schulze) has produced numerous excellent solo CDs as well as his success album Double Fantasy / Universal Ave., which reached the US Charts in the end of the 80s. The music of Robert Schroeder is various, but always soulful. He combines spherical synthesizer sounds with modern rhythmical contrasts, often supplemented by spacey guitars and sometimes also by piano, cello or voices. Schroeder's music spectrum includes Electronic, Ambient, Chill-Out, Lounge, Berlin School, Adventure and Trip-Hop. Electronic Music in the widest sense is the musical style of this artist who has his roots in the music of Klaus Schulze, Can and Pink Floyd. This 16th solo album SphereWare is something for experts and lovers from Chill Out, Lounge, Space, Berlin School and Ambient with modern beats and sounds. The promising Ambient opener (dark, weird, atmospheric) is followed by an experimental and beautifully soft track with the finest effect sounds, nice surfaces, retro sounds, successful lead guitar and relaxed Chill-Out sound. This strong atmospheric track will inspire the electronic fans! Other tracks offer interesting rhythmical elements, trance, hypnotic sequences, Techno reminiscences and analogue sounds, dreamy melodies and Melotron choirs. SphereWare is a successful mixture of analogue and digital sounds and atmospheres. The precisely 15 minutes track 'A Quarter Of An Hour' includes spacey e-guitar lines, these, however, also with strong and interesting effects. SphereWare is Chill-Out, cosmic, spacey rhythmical, romantic and full of suspense and relaxing. Enjoy it. Best Tracks: 2, 6, 8, 9 Please read the album review by Sylvain Lupari from gutsofdarkness.com & synth&sequences.com This new Robert Schroeder wafer is likely to please much more than its mellowy 2005 comeback cd “Brainchips”. “SphereWare” is make out of new Synthis synth and sequencer who delivers an ambiance crossing analog sonorities, even with digital equipment. And as we hear the first breaths of “Access to Dream”, we notice the effectiveness of this new musical software. A floating intro with reverberation pulsations, which propel the sound arcs, as a finger multiplies the waves of quiet water, to the borders of cosmic stratospheres. Skilfully having learned from Schulze, Schroeder amplifies its sonorities on a soft space passage where pulsations become random on soft mellotrons violins. The first amateurs of Schroeder will not be long in establishing a link between the nebulous atmospheres of “Galaxy Cygnus-A” and this intro of “SphereWare” and on “Illuminated Signs”. In Quarter of an Hour offers a temperament close of “Double Fantasy” with its groovy movement and its floating guitar. A beautiful title which will bring together the fans of Schroeder’s “Computer Voice” and “Brain Voyager” area, just like the honeyed “Dancing Clouds”. Moreover it is the main spirit of this work; Robert Schroeder returns to his flexible and melodious electronic rhythms which preceded its ambient area and Berlin School mood, with 9 compositions to heterogeneous, but constant, tempos as “Data Stream”, one of the good track on this cd, and “Solar Panels”. Two very contemporary titles of which the sound effects are mould with the rhythmic structures on fluty and choiry mellotron or electro metallic pulsations. “100% Synthetic” is bursting with a gliding intro that’s moulding on a placid rhythm which crosses a soft techno beat to languorous movements. Stuff of great sound effects, this title is irresistible and hangs to its first mumbles. Schroeder is really in great shape. “Flying Saucers” is shape within its title with a space approach on mellotrons choirs and flexible cosmic synth solos. The percussions resound in a pluralism structure, making an effective hitch. The title track ties in a similar structure, but the rhythm is more conqueror on steady percussions on a moderate techno mould. Once again, the sound effects are enjoyable and are not pledges of inspiration breakdown. Those who thought that Brainchips was Robert Schroeder sawn song will have to change their minds. “SphereWare” is a titanic work. An album stuff of atmospheres, where tempos amalgamate briskly, without ties, on cleverly strong sound effects. Innovative and updating EM where each listening is pledge of new auditory surprises to assimilate, testifying to an impressive work which grows as it is discovering.
